Empowering Communities through Partnerships

"Through this initiative, I had the opportunity to engage with civil society organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders committed to advancing malaria prevention and elimination in Tanzania. What stood out to me was the strong commitment of communities and partners to support national malaria efforts through awareness raising, coordination, and collective action. These engagements reinforced the importance of community participation and multi-stakeholder collaboration in sustaining progress towards malaria elimination. I am encouraged by the growing role of civil society and local communities in supporting prevention efforts and promoting healthy behaviours. Initiatives such as this demonstrate how collective action can contribute to stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities."

"Before joining the Women Empowerment for Livelihood and Leadership (W.E.L.L.) Project implemented by Global Impact Transformation (GIT), opportunities for women in our community to earn a stable income were very limited. Many of us relied on small and unpredictable sources of income that were often insufficient to meet our families' needs. Through the Training of Trainers (ToT) program, I gained practical skills in producing eco-friendly charcoal from locally available waste materials. The training introduced new opportunities for generating income while promoting environmental conservation and responsible waste management in our community. With the knowledge and support provided through GIT, I have trained 13 women and girls in my community. Together, we now produce, use, and sell eco-friendly charcoal, creating additional income for our households and strengthening our economic resilience. What started as a training opportunity has grown into a platform for women's empowerment, leadership, and sustainable livelihoods. As Chairperson of the Tuchangamke Women's Group, established and supported through the W.E.L.L. Project, I have witnessed women gain confidence, strengthen their leadership skills, and take a more active role in supporting their families and communities. Beyond improving our livelihoods, we are promoting environmentally sustainable practices that help protect natural resources for future generations. Today, I am proud to support other women in building more resilient and independent lives. This project has demonstrated that when women are equipped with the right skills, opportunities, and support, they can strengthen their families, contribute to their communities, and create a lasting impact."

"Volunteering with Global Impact Transformation's Civic Engagement and Environmental Action Initiative strengthened my understanding of the important role citizens can play in protecting the environment and contributing to community wellbeing. Seeing the amount of plastic waste collected from our coastline highlighted the urgent need for greater environmental responsibility and collective action. The experience inspired me to become a stronger advocate for responsible waste management, environmental stewardship, and active citizenship. I now encourage others to participate in community clean-ups and civic engagement initiatives that contribute to cleaner, healthier, and more resilient communities. I am proud to have been part of an initiative that brought together volunteers and community members around a shared commitment to environmental sustainability.
