Over the six-week course, participants will gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, branding, and basic business management supported by interactive workshops, practical exercises, and one-on-one mentorship. By the end of the program, each participant will have established a functional online presence, developed a market-ready sales plan, and earned a co-branded certificate from GIT and Her Initiative, validating their readiness to operate in the digital marketplace.
The initiative provides participants with the skills, tools, and confidence to create technology-enabled enterprises that are competitive in today’s fast-evolving digital economy. Young women are prioritized because they are often underrepresented in the technology and entrepreneurship sectors, and face systemic barriers that limit their participation in the digital economy. This program seeks to close that gap by ensuring they have equal access to skills, resources, and opportunities.
The program reflects the shared commitment of GIT and Her Initiative to address youth unemployment, advance gender equality, and harness technology as a catalyst for sustainable livelihoods. Through this partnership, the organizations are not only building individual capacities but also contributing to the broader goal of fostering inclusive economic growth and innovation in Tanzania.
“Empowering young women with digital skills is a strategic investment in closing the gender gap in technology, fostering inclusive innovation, and building resilient economies. Through this initiative, we are ensuring that those historically left behind have the tools, confidence, and platforms to lead and thrive in the digital age.” Martha Nghambi, Founder and Executive Director, Global Impact Transformation (GIT)
Over the six-week program, participants will engage in a comprehensive blend of interactive workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and personalized mentorship designed to strengthen both technical and entrepreneurial capacities.
