Youth lead solutions for a more inclusive and connected Global South

By Our reporter

In a groundbreaking effort to reimagine education and advance global solidarity, Global Impact Transformation (GIT), in partnership with Global Peace Foundation Brazil, launched the Global South Digital Connect—a youth-led, virtual pilot exchange linking four secondary schools across Tanzania and Brazil.

This visionary initiative connects two schools from each country through digital platforms and structured, youth-centered programming focused on dialogue, co-creation, and cultural exchange. It is rooted in the shared belief that young people are not the leaders of tomorrow, they are the catalysts of change today.

At a time of increasing global uncertainty and widening social divides, investing in youth-led, cross-border dialogue is more critical than ever. The Global South Digital Connect reflects GIT’s unwavering commitment to:

  • Advancing inclusive  and accessible education
  • Fostering ethical and values-driven youth leadership
  • Strengthening harmonious and resilient and cohesive communities

Through guided virtual sessions, students engaged in cross-cultural exchange, explored common challenges, and discussed community-based solutions in areas such as education, climate resilience, equity, and leadership. The experience built mutual understanding and respect, allowing participants to connect across borders and develop a deeper sense of shared responsibility and  shaping a new vision of global citizenship grounded in equity, dignity, and solidarity. The program also enhanced digital fluency, communication skills, and confidence among youth key competencies for active participation in the 21st-century economy and civic life.

This ongoing investment in youth-led global engagement underscores GIT’s long-term vision of inclusive, equitable, and youth-driven development.
