Global Impact Transformation (GIT) actively took part in the International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 celebrations on March 8 in Arusha, Tanzania, reaffirming its commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s leadership.

The event, attended by thousands, was graced by Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who emphasized the collective responsibility of raising a morally upright and respectful generation. She highlighted the pivotal roles of parents, religious leaders, teachers, and society in instilling Tanzanian values, discipline, and mutual respect in children.

This year’s IWD theme, “Accelerated Action for Gender Equality,” resonates strongly as the world marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a historic commitment to advancing women’s rights. The theme calls for urgent and transformative efforts to bridge gender gaps, particularly in leadership, peace, and security.

At the event, interactive forums and exhibitions provided women with a platform to share their experiences, discuss challenges, and strategize on accelerating action towards gender equality.

This year’s celebrations were particularly significant as they coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a historic blueprint for women’s rights and empowerment adopted in 1995. While progress has been made over the past three decades, challenges persist, particularly in women’s participation in leadership, peace building, and security.
