Young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow they are innovators, problem solvers, and change makers of today. As technology continues to reshape economies, societies, and opportunities around the world, equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape has never been more important. In line with this vision, Global Impact Transformation (GIT) successfully expanded its flagship Vijana Impact Hub initiative to Dodoma Region through an outreach and club establishment activity at Nyamkongo Secondary School in Kongwa District. The engagement brought together 63 students (35 girls and 28 boys) and marked another important milestone in GIT’s efforts to strengthen youth innovation, digital skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, and responsible use of emerging technologies across Tanzania. Implemented in partnership with Kongwa District Council, Nyamkongo Secondary School, and YANA Corp, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to preparing young people for the opportunities and challenges of the fourth industrial revolution while advancing inclusive and sustainable development.

The outreach to Nyamkongo Secondary School reflects GIT’s commitment to equipping young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and interconnected world. Through strategic partnerships with local government authorities, educational institutions, and the private sector, the Vijana Impact Hub continues to create inclusive learning spaces where young people can develop leadership capacity, explore innovation, and gain practical skills for the future.
Students participated in interactive mentorship and learning sessions designed to expose them to emerging opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Participants were introduced to the vision of the Vijana Impact Hub and engaged in discussions on how young people can leverage technology and innovation to address challenges within their schools and communities. Particular emphasis was placed on digital literacy, creativity, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students were encouraged to view technology not only as a tool for learning but also as a pathway for innovation, enterprise development, and community-driven solutions.
As digital transformation continues to reshape education, employment, and economic opportunities worldwide, the sessions challenged participants to think beyond traditional career pathways and embrace the skills required for the future. Discussions also highlighted the importance of responsible digital citizenship, online safety, ethical innovation, and the inclusive use of technology to ensure that no young person is left behind in the digital age.The engagement generated strong enthusiasm among students, many of whom expressed interest in joining the newly established Vijana Impact Hub Club. Their active participation demonstrated the growing demand for practical learning opportunities that complement classroom education and prepare young people to become innovators, leaders, and contributors to sustainable development.
This outreach further builds on the success of the Vijana Impact Hub in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, and Pwani regions, where the initiative has already engaged and empowered more than 500 young people, including young women and persons with disabilities, through training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), coding, digital literacy, innovation, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, leadership, and civic engagement. Guided by the principle of leaving no one behind, the program continues to expand opportunities for young people to develop future-ready skills and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation's development.
Voices Inspiring the Future
The impact of the outreach was perhaps best reflected in the voices of those directly involved educators who see the need for future-ready skills and students eager to unlock their potential through innovation, leadership, and technology.
Mr. Ayubu B. Mtili, Computer Teacher at Nyamkongo Secondary School, welcomed the establishment of the Vijana Impact Hub Club and highlighted its value in complementing classroom learning with practical skills and real-world exposure.
"The establishment of the Vijana Impact Hub Club is a timely and valuable opportunity for our students. It provides practical exposure to technology, innovation, and leadership beyond what is offered in the classroom. Through this initiative, students will strengthen their digital literacy, creativity, and confidence while developing the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technological and competitive world. The club will play an important role in preparing young people for future academic, professional, and entrepreneurial opportunities."
For many students, the engagement opened new perspectives on what young people can achieve when equipped with the right skills, mentorship, and opportunities.
Reflecting on his experience, Seif Athumani Kweka, a student participant, shared how the session challenged him to think differently about leadership, innovation, and his own potential to contribute to positive change.
"Before this outreach, I had limited knowledge about leadership, innovation, and the opportunities available to young people beyond the classroom. The discussions on entrepreneurship, technology, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence inspired me to think differently about solving challenges in my community. I learned that age is not a barrier to making a difference. The session motivated me to strengthen my leadership skills, participate more actively in school activities, and explore innovative ideas that can benefit others. I look forward to joining the Vijana Impact Hub Club and applying the knowledge gained to create positive impact in the future."
These reflections underscore the transformative potential of investing in young people. When provided with access to mentorship, technology, and opportunities for innovation, young people gain not only knowledge and skills, but also the confidence, vision, and motivation needed to become active contributors to their communities and Tanzania's future development.
