Across many communities, the need for inclusive development, stronger protection systems, and sustainable resilience has never been more important. The Tulindane Project is a new community-centered initiative launching in Kibondo District, Kigoma Region, Tanzania, with a focus on promoting safety, dignity, opportunity, and social wellbeing through locally led action, advocacy, and strategic partnerships. The project seeks to strengthen community capacity to address pressing social challenges, amplify community voices, influence positive social norms, and create pathways for long-term stability and shared prosperity. Global Impact Transformation (GIT) is proud to be among the implementing partners of the Tulindane Project, a grassroots initiative bringing together local leadership and multi-stakeholder collaboration to advance advocacy, deliver practical solutions, empower vulnerable groups, and generate lasting community impact.

A Grassroots Initiative Advancing GBV Prevention, Protection, and Community Resilience

By Communication team

Tulindane, meaning “Let us protect one another,” reflects a shared commitment to building safer, more inclusive, and resilient communities. The project brings together implementing and strategic partners, including Global Impact Transformation (GIT), Babawatoto Organization, Vijana in Wor, Goethe-Institut, and Culture and Development East Africa (CDEA), with support from the European Union.

The initiative focuses on three interconnected priorities: addressing gender inequality, preventing gender-based violence, and strengthening climate resilience. These issues continue to affect many communities where women and girls often face unequal access to opportunities, increased protection risks, and disproportionate vulnerability during economic hardship and environmental shocks.

Through strategic community mobilization, arts and culture for social progress and high-impact local action, the Tulindane Project is positioned to address the root causes of gender-based violence, strengthen social inclusion, and create safer, more enabling environments where women, girls, youth, and vulnerable households can realize their full potential. By using creative expression, community dialogue, and culturally grounded approaches, the initiative seeks to shift harmful norms, amplify local voices, and inspire collective responsibility.

The project also advances locally led climate resilience solutions that protect livelihoods, expand adaptive capacity, and reduce exposure to emerging environmental and economic shocks.

Kibondo District represents a critical setting for this investment, where inclusive development, community wellbeing, and resilience-building are central to sustainable progress. By driving prevention, empowerment, advocacy, and partnership, Tulindane stands as a bold model for strengthening local systems and ensuring that no one is left behind.

As one of the implementing partners, Global Impact Transformation brings its experience in community empowerment, youth engagement, gender equality, and sustainable development to advance impactful, inclusive, and people-centered results.

The Tulindane Project demonstrates the power of collaboration, local ownership, and shared responsibility in responding to today’s challenges while creating pathways for long-term progress in Kigoma Region.
