In a decisive step toward advancing youth empowerment and digital inclusion, Global Impact Transformation (GIT), in collaboration with Her Initiative, has launched the Second Cohort of the Digital Business Training Program in Tanzania. The new phase comes just few weeks after the successful graduation of Cohort One, which equipped young Tanzanians especially young women with transformative digital entrepreneurship skills and practical business knowledge. The launch signifies GIT’s growing commitment to building a generation of digitally skilled entrepreneurs who can thrive in the 21st-century economy and contribute meaningfully to sustainable development.

The program continues to bridge the gap between technology and opportunity empowering youth to build sustainable enterprises, enhance digital literacy, and participate actively in Tanzania’s evolving digital economy. It aligns with GIT’s broader mission of promoting inclusive growth through innovation, skills development, and social entrepreneurship.

The Digital Business Training Programme continues to bridge the gap between technology and opportunity empowering young people to build sustainable enterprises, enhance digital literacy, and actively participate in Tanzania’s growing digital economy.

Implemented in collaboration with Her Initiative, a dynamic women-led organization dedicated to advancing girls’ and young women’s economic empowerment, the program combines innovation with inclusion. Her Initiative brings extensive experience in equipping young women with financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and life skills through its flagship Mshiko Clubs and the Panda Digital platform an innovative e-learning model that uses web and mobile-based tools to expand access to digital education across Tanzania.

This partnership brings together two organizations with a shared vision: Global Impact Transformation (GIT), known for its community-centered, technology-driven empowerment program, and Her Initiative, recognized for transforming the social and economic landscape for young women. Together, they are creating a new generation of digitally empowered entrepreneurs who are not only transforming their own livelihoods but also contributing to Tanzania’s broader goals for inclusive growth, gender equality, and sustainable development.

By aligning digital training with entrepreneurship, mentorship, and access to resources, GIT and Her Initiative are demonstrating how collaboration can accelerate systemic change. The initiative is more than a skills-building program, it is a movement that champions equity, innovation, and opportunity, ensuring that no young person is left behind in the digital transformation of Tanzania.

From Vision to Impact: Scaling Success Beyond the Pilot Phase

Cohort One participants gained practical experience in digital marketing, online business management, and brand development. Many graduates have since launched their own online enterprises or expanded existing ones, demonstrating the program’s tangible impact on livelihoods and self-reliance.

Cohort Two builds on this success with a curriculum that combines mentorship, peer learning, and market linkages. The updated modules include e-commerce, financial literacy, business sustainability, and digital storytelling ensuring that each participant acquires both the technical and entrepreneurial skills needed to compete in the modern economy.

“This second cohort represents continuity and growth,” said a GIT Program Coordinator. “We have seen firsthand how digital skills transform lives, and this phase deepens that impact by turning knowledge into action and ideas into enterprises.”

Fostering Innovation, Inclusion, and Equality

The Digital Business Training Programme embodies GIT’s commitment to “Leaving No One Behind.” It targets young people particularly young women who face systemic barriers to employment, technology access, and capital. The training provides a platform where participants gain not only technical competence but also leadership, problem-solving, and confidence to lead community change.

By integrating insights from Cohort One, GIT and Her Initiative have refined the program to ensure holistic support from idea incubation to post-training mentorship. This approach guarantees that participants move beyond training into real-world entrepreneurship, equipped to generate income, create jobs, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The initiative directly advances Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 5, 8, and 9 ensuring quality education, promoting gender equality, fostering decent work and economic growth, and driving innovation. It also complements Tanzania’s National Digital Economy Framework and Vision 2030, which position youth and technology as key levers for national transformation.

Driving the Future: Youth at the Heart of the Digital Economy

Through this partnership, GIT and Her Initiative are cultivating a new generation of socially conscious digital entrepreneurs. The program promotes creativity, climate-smart innovation, and sustainable enterprise models that respond to emerging market needs.

The long-term goal extends beyond training it is about shaping an ecosystem of youth who can influence digital transformation in their communities. GIT continues to strengthen this ecosystem through initiatives such as the Vijana Impact Hub and GIT School Clubs, offering continued mentorship, networking, and access to digital markets for graduates.

“Digital literacy is a catalyst for empowerment,” noted a program trainer. “When young people especially young women gain access to technology and knowledge, they become innovators who lead change across sectors.”

A Sustainable Path Forward

As Cohort Two begins its journey, GIT and Her Initiative remains focused on scaling the initiative to reach more youth across Tanzania, including rural and marginalized communities. Plans are underway to integrate a Digital Mentorship Platform that connects graduates with industry experts, investors, and potential business partners to enhance sustainability and real-world impact.

With each cohort, GIT moves closer to its vision of an inclusive, digital, and entrepreneurial society. By equipping young people with skills, confidence, and opportunity, GIT is shaping a future where innovation drives equality and no one is left behind.
