Global Impact Transformation (GIT), in partnership with Babawatoto Organization (BAO), continues advancing community-based advocacy and engagement activities in Kibondo District through the ongoing implementation of the TULINDANE Initiative. The initiative is strengthening community awareness and dialogue on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention, social cohesion, climate resilience, safeguarding, and inclusive community participation through the strategic use of arts, culture, storytelling, Community Action Theatre (CAT), and Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) approaches.

As part of the ongoing activities, the initiative continues engaging youth, women, grassroots community members, local theatre artists, local leaders, and Local Government Authorities across target communities in Kibondo District. Through culturally grounded and participatory approaches, communities are actively engaging in dialogue sessions, advocacy discussions, theatre performances, and community reflection platforms focused on Gender-Based Violence prevention, social cohesion, positive social norms, environmental responsibility, inclusion, and collective community action.

The TULINDANE Initiative recognizes the important role of arts and culture in promoting community participation, strengthening dialogue, and advancing locally driven solutions. Through Community Action Theatre performances, storytelling, music, poetry, traditional expression, and facilitated discussions, community members are engaging in conversations addressing harmful social norms, gender inequality, climate-related challenges, and the importance of community responsibility in strengthening safer and more inclusive communities.

The initiative continues creating accessible and engaging platforms that encourage community ownership, reflection, and participation while strengthening locally relevant advocacy approaches rooted within the realities and experiences of the communities.

Strengthening Engagement with Local Government and Community Structures

The ongoing implementation also continues strengthening collaboration and engagement with Local Government Authorities, Community Development Officers, cultural leaders, youth representatives, and grassroots community structures in Kibondo District.These engagements are supporting stronger coordination between communities and local leadership while creating space for inclusive dialogue, community feedback, and locally informed responses to social and environmental challenges affecting communities.

Community dialogue platforms continue enabling local leaders and community members to collectively discuss key issues affecting women, youth, and vulnerable populations while strengthening accountability, participation, and community-driven action. Youth and women continue playing an important role within the initiative through participation in advocacy activities, dialogue sessions, theatre engagement, and community mobilization efforts. The initiative continues strengthening opportunities for women and young people to contribute to awareness creation, community engagement, leadership, and locally led advocacy processes aimed at promoting social cohesion, inclusion, safeguarding, and resilience within their communities.
